Today I have been experimenting with some of the new things in HTML5. Mainly the localStorage system. I have created this sticky notes like thing that saves the note to the localStorage browser database, not to a mysql db. I’ve named it Personal Notes, simply because only the writer of the notes can view them.
I am considering extending this notes thing so that can make notes public — ie: save it to a db, allowing others to view the note.
It’s nearly a year ago since I started brewing ginger beer. Although I stopped, I am considering starting again. The progress from the original stint is still logged on the Ginger Beer Plant Experiment page at 5o1.co.cc.
I am considering restarting the project with a new plant and an updated software and hopefully simplified design. It will likely have parts specific to HTML5.
Lately I have found that my coding juices are running low on ideas and motivation. This could be because of the awesomeness that Tartarus has turned out to be.
So one of the main reasons for using WordPress on my site was because I couldn’t find Dreamhost’s implementation of phpMyAdmin, and I was unsure of how to install it. This meant that I couldn’t post anything, as I was on AwardSpace. I used to use phpMyAdmin as my input system, and just focused on writing the output system.
I’ve been hacking away at bbPress lately. All of my work is involved in the Tartarus: The After Effect forums. I’ve built three plugins of my own, modified the Kakumei theme, and several other pieces. I do plan on releasing these plugins, but currently they’re only suited to Tartarus, and not even complete. I will eventually open up a bbPress page on this site dedicated to my plugins, themes and modifications of bbPress.
New host, new domain, new software. Why? Lazy as fuck and decided to piggyback upon the Tartarus hosting. It might be less fun not having self-made software for my site, but it will also be a whole new experience. I’ll be able to create and refine WordPress themes. I’ll be able to do a lot of things…
